What happens before I leave Türkiye?
Before your last appointment ends, the dentist checks the result, your bite and – after surgery – how healing has started. You receive aftercare instructions for the following days. It is also worth asking for:
- copies of your X-rays and any 3D scans
- a short summary of the treatment you received
- the brand and type of any implants placed
- the materials used for crowns, bridges or veneers
These records help any dentist who sees you later. Leave at least one spare day before your flight, in case a final adjustment is needed.
How does follow-up work once I am home?
You can contact us on WhatsApp at +90 532 363 49 54. During opening hours we answer messages in English and German within 15 minutes, and a native German speaker on our team handles communication in German. Clear photos of the treated area, with a short description of what you notice and when it started, make it easier to answer a question remotely. Some questions can be resolved with advice; others need an examination, either by a local dentist or at the clinic.
For treatment with a second stage, such as dental implants, the months between your trips matter. Let the clinic know if anything changes during healing – for example, if a temporary tooth becomes loose or the gum around an implant becomes sore.
What is normal after treatment, and what is not?
In the first days after treatment, it is common to have:
- mild swelling, bruising or tenderness after surgery
- some sensitivity to hot and cold after crowns or fillings
- a bite that feels slightly different while you get used to new teeth
Contact the clinic, or a local dentist, if you notice:
- bleeding that does not stop with gentle pressure
- swelling or pain that gets worse after the third day
- a fever, a bad taste or discharge from the gum
- numbness that does not wear off
- a crown, bridge or implant that feels loose or has chipped
If you have difficulty breathing or swallowing, or very heavy bleeding, seek emergency medical help locally straight away.
What should I do if a problem occurs?
- In an emergency, contact local emergency services or an emergency dentist first.
- Message the clinic on WhatsApp with photos and a description.
- Keep copies of any local dental records, X-rays and receipts.
- Discuss the next steps with the clinic – advice, local treatment or a return visit – before major work is redone elsewhere, as this can affect follow-up arrangements.
Can my local dentist look after my treatment?
Yes, for routine care. Your local dentist can carry out check-ups, cleaning and minor adjustments, and will find your X-rays, treatment summary and implant details helpful. Implant components differ between brands, so knowing which implant system was used makes future work much easier. The make, model and batch number of your implant are recorded on the implant card you receive. If your dentist has questions about the treatment, they can contact us on the same WhatsApp number.
What about guarantees?
Our warranty is described in the frequently asked questions below. Whichever clinic you choose, it is worth having the terms in writing: what is covered, for how long, whether regular check-ups are needed to keep it valid, and whether travel costs are included if something needs to be redone.
How do I look after my teeth in the long term?
Brush twice a day, clean between your teeth daily – with interdental brushes around implants and bridges – and see a dentist regularly for check-ups and professional cleaning. If you grind or clench your teeth, ask about a night guard to protect crowns, veneers and implants, and avoid using your teeth as tools.
